Corn Bread
CACFP: 1 serving = 1 bread
*Double batch for Group Family providers.

Ingredients 6 servings
Yellow Corn Meal ¾ cup
Flour, enriched or whole grain ¾ cup
Baking Powder 1 Tablespoon
Milk ¾ cup
Eggs, medium 1
Margarine ¼ cup



  • 1. Combine dry ingredients.
  • 2, Add milk, eggs, and margarine,
  • 3. Beat until smooth - about 1 minute.
  • 4. Lightly grease cast iron skillet with shortening.
  • 5. Preheat skillet in oven at 425 for 15 minutes.
  • 6.Pour batter into preheated skillet and bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
  • 7. Cut into portions equal to number of children to be served.
