Raisin Cookies
CACFP: 1 cookie = 1 bread


Ingredients 50 servings
Flour, enriched or whole-grain 2 cups
Baking Powder 1½ teaspoons
Cinnamon ½ teaspoon
Brown Sugar, packed ⅓ cup
Vegetable Shortening ⅔ cup
Eggs, medium 1
Milk ¼ cup
Vanilla 1 teaspoon
Applesauce ½ cup
Raisins 1 cup
Cooking Spray  



  • 1. Mix flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • 2. Cream sugar and shortening.
  • 3. Add egg, milk, vanilla, and applesauce to creamed mixture. Mix well.
  • 4. Stir in dry ingredients. Add raisins and mix well.
  • 5. Drop by teaspoonful one inch apart onto baking sheet greased with cooking spray.
  • 6. Bake 9 minutes at 350 degrees.

    Note: We recommend that you make at least 50 cookies and freeze unused portions to serve at a later date.
