Sausage Balls
CACFP: 3 balls = ½ meat


Ingredients 6 servings 20 servings
Turkey Sausage ¼ pound 1 pound
Mozzarella Cheese 3 ounces ½ pound
Ground Red Pepper ⅛ teaspoon ½ teaspoon
Soy Sauce ½ teaspoon ½ Tablespoon
Biscuit Mix ½ cup 1½ cups + 3 Tablespoons
Milk 3 Tablespoons ½ cup + 1 Tablespoon
Cooking Spray    



  • 1. Brown the sausage, drain off fat, and crumble sausage.
  • 2. Shred cheese.
  • 3. Mix cheese and remaining ingredients together well, forming a soft dough. Red pepper adds an interesting, spicy flavor to this recipe without being "hot".
  • 4. Add crumbled sausage and mix well.
  • 5. Using wet hands, form mixture into one-inch balls and place on pans greased with cooking spray.
  • 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
