Steamed Broccoli
CACFP: ¼ cup = ½ fruit/vegetable

Ingredients 6 servings 20 servings
Broccoli, fresh 1½ cups 5 cups

  • 1. Cut fresh broccoli into bite-size pieces. Include the stems and add a few broccoli leaves for extra iron.
  • 2. Divide broccoli into 2 or 3 batches if cooking for a large group.
  • 3. Steam broccoli until bright green and fork tender. If you plan to keep broccoli warm for later serving, slightly undercook.
  • 4. Keep warm in 200 degree oven until ready to serve.

    Note: If using frozen broccoli, prepare according to directions on package.
