Biscuit
CACFP: 1 biscuit = 1 bread


 
Ingredients 20 servings
Flour, enriched 1&1/3 cups
Baking Powder 2 teaspoons
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Vegetable Oil 1/4 cup
Buttermilk  3/4 cup
Cooking Spray

 
  • 1. Combine dry ingredients.
  • 2. Add oil and buttermilk. Stir until a soft dough is formed.
  • 3. Turn into a floured board and knead 5 times.
  • 4. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.
  • 5. Cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter.
  • 6. Place biscuits on cookie sheet (sprayed with cooking spray) with sides touching.
  • 7. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Note: If serving fewer than 20, refrigerate or freeze unused biscuits to serve at a later date.
