Turkeyburger Pie
CACFP: 1 serving = 1 meat
Makes 6 servings
Ingredients:
Ground Turkey - 1 pound
Large Onion, chopped - 1/4 cup
Mozzarella Cheese - 2 ounces
Cheddar Cheese -2 ounces
Egg Whites, medium - 1
Whole Eggs, medium - 2
Milk - 1 1/2 cups
Spice Mix - 1/2 teaspoon
Biscuit Mix - 3/4 cup
Directions:
1. Brown ground turkey in skillet and drain.
2. Spread meat on bottom of pan sprayed with cooking spray.
3. Chop onion in food processor and sprinkle over meat.
4. Grate or shred cheese.
5. Sprinkle cheese over meat and onion.
6. Seperate eggs as indicated above and discard the yolk.
7. In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, spice mix, and biscuit mix. Mix thoroughly.
8. Pour mixture over meat and cheese.
9. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until brown and firm.
10. Allow to stand for 10 minutes before cutting into servings.
11. Cut into 6 portions.
