Week 1 - Places We Live
People all around the world live in different types of homes. They are made to protect people from weather and create a sense of safety. It is important for children to see different ways people live and expand their knowledge on what a home can look like. During week one, children can explore familiar and unfamiliar types of homes. They can share knowledge about their own home and learn about the homes of their peers. Through these experiences, children can learn to appreciate the diverse ways people live as they explore what they call home.

Week 2 - Rooms
Even though homes can look very different from each other, they usually have similar rooms inside. Rooms such as kitchens or bathrooms are most likely found in nearly every home around the world. Each room has a special purpose for people. During week two, children can explore rooms of a home and what makes them special. Children learn what to do and say in each room through dramatic play. 

Week 3 - Chores
There are a variety of chores to be done in a household. Families can share these chores and help make their home a special, clean place. During week three, children can build their responsibility skills and learn how to help with different jobs. They can also explore what activities interest them. Children can learn how to be helpful in the classroom, at home and in their community.   

Week 4 - Animal Homes
People are not the only ones who live in homes: animals also live in different types of homes, such as nests or dens. Some animals work together to build a home while others work alone. During week four, children can explore how animals build a home and what they use to build it. Children can use their construction skills and creativity to build pretend homes for different types of animals.
